WHAT WE ARE TALKING ABOUT!
We recently checked out the finished product for our Big River Trail trailhead design and it turned out fantastic! From this trailhead near downtown West Memphis, Arkansas, walkers, runners and cyclists will be able to get to the Harahan Bridge and cross the Mississippi River to downtown Memphis.
The project is a critical component of the the Main Street to Main Street Multi-Model Connector Project. It is funded by a TIGER IV grant (read about it on the Transportation for America website).
The Big River Trail also is part of the Mid-South Regional Greenprint and Sustainability Plan.
"Transportation for America is helping local leaders come together to make sure the federal government doesn't drop the ball, and that states and the federal government invests in smart, homegrown, locally-driven transportation solutions."
