CLIENT - City of Germantown (Germantown, Tennessee)

DESCRIPTION -  To increase the options available to host receptions and events, the Germantown Great Hall enlisted Dalhoff Thomas design|studio to design an outdoor plaza in an existing landscape area adjacent to the building. However, the landscape area was bisected by a large swale that carried roof run-off to the street. DT Design created a paved plaza, accessed from the main building over a bridge that crosses a rain garden where the roof run-off is captured. The plaza is set into the landscape, surrounded by seating walls and native plants. An evergreen planting screen separate the plaza from the parking area, and a fountain provides noise as well as a focal point from inside the building.
